Downloads are for license holders
Installers are provided to cemeteries with a current license. The key is the one we emailed you when your invoice was paid. To license a cemetery, see pricing.
The first time you open the installer
Sexton is not yet signed with the certificates Microsoft and Apple sell, so both systems stop an installer they have not seen before. Nothing is wrong with the file, and it only happens the first time. Here is what you will see, and what to choose.
The browser may say the file is not commonly downloaded — choose “Keep”. When you open it, a blue window says “Windows protected your PC”, and the only button offered is “Don't run”. The one you want is behind “More info”: choose that, then choose “Run anyway”.
Open the .dmg and drag Sexton to Applications. The first opening is refused with “Apple could not verify Sexton is free of malware”; choose “Done”. Then open System Settings, choose “Privacy & Security”, scroll to the bottom, and choose “Open Anyway” beside Sexton. Enter the computer's password, choose “Open Anyway” once more, and Sexton opens. On macOS 15 and newer, holding Control and choosing Open no longer works — Privacy & Security is the only way through.
Activating without internet
Sexton does not need an internet connection to run. If the office is offline, install from a copy of the installer brought in on a drive. Sexton then shows a machine code; read it to us over the phone or send it, and we return a license file made for that computer. The file is too long to read back over the phone, so it arrives by email or on a drive. One license covers two computers.
